Love Square – AKL Jazz & Blues Club

Band leader Nick Atkinson (Supergroove, Hopetoun Brown, Come Together horns) describes his trio Love Square as a musical magic carpet. “The three of us write and choose tunes that excite us rhythmically and tonally. In many ways we’re taking you on a global musical journey taking in the highlands of Bolivia and Columbia, the islands of Jamaica and St Marten and many African nations that inform our feels and melodies”. Joining Atkinson on this jazz journey are two of the country’s finest musicians, Finn Scholes on brass, percussion and electric piano and Alistair Deverick, an extremely well travelled drummer who has done his time with Neil Finn and Lawrence Arabia while always being the back-bone of the surreal Scholes outfit, Carnivorous Plant Society.
