Featuring multi-genre adept vocalist and entertainer Ariathea Duder, Highlights is, like the women it celebrates, sassy and sophisticated, feisty and fun.
Blondes include Marilyn Monroe and Madonna; Doris Day, Dusty Springfield and Dolly Parton; Agnetha and Adele.
Songs include Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend, Son of a Preacher Man, 9-5, Big Yellow Taxi, Call Me, Easy on Me, Let It Go, and Vogue.
ARIATHEA DUDER: BIO
A graduate of Toi Whakaari: The New Zealand Drama School, Ariathea (previously Georgia) began her career in Australian musical theatre as a “Fabulous Singlette” for Jon English’s modernised Gilbert & Sullivans, and for Cameron Mackintosh in the 25th Anniversary production of Les Misérables as ensemble and cover for Madam Thenardier.
Other musicals include those for Australia’s SK Productions, the Auckland Theatre Company, and a Royal Command performance of Hairy McClary, as the singing narrator, for King Charles.
Jazz and Soul residencies in Auckland include multiple years at Sky City Casino for Soul on Sunday and at Prohibition as chanteuse for The Jazz Age, specialists in The Great American Songbook. Soloist engagements include The Dust Palace and Royal New Zealand Navy Big Band, and work as an actor for NZ Opera and the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra.
